Sakarya University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of Labour Economics and Industrial Relations trains students who are qualified, ethical, respectful of their national and moral values ​​to be employed in the public and private sectors.

The students of the department are trained to do active and useful work in the entire trilogy of workers, employers and government, which are trivet of working life. Graduates who can become experts and managers in the trade unions and confederations of workers and employers also have important career opportunities as experts and senior managers in private sector workplaces. In recent years, it has been observed that the effectiveness of department graduates has increased gradually in the field of “human resources management”. As graduates of the department, in all other ministries and public institutions, especially the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Services; It can be employed in career professions such as experts, inspectors, auditors, and controllers.

The 7 + 1 education system, which entered into force in 2013, which can be expressed as a theoretical and applied mixed program, requires students to perform a compulsory internship for 14 weeks within the scope of the "Professional Practice" course. With this application made in the 8th semester, students at the graduation stage can relate to their working life while they are still students. According to the data of professional practice tracking system, approximately 25% of our department graduates receive offers from their workplaces and after they graduate, they start their work life first in these workplaces. Increasing demand for trainee students from companies thanks to previous student references, not only increases the motivation of students, faculty and assistants, but also positively affects our students' preferences.

With our qualified and experienced department academic staff who are proficient in terms of quality and quantity; In addition to the 4-year undergraduate education, the Institute of Social Sciences provides education in 2 Postgraduate programs in the “Department of Labour Economics and Social Politics” and 2 Postgraduate programs in the “Human Resources Management and Industrial Relations Department” and 1 in the “Department of Labour Economics and Industrial Relations”. As of 2020 within the department; A total of 6 post-graduate "assistant students", including 3 professors, 7 associate professors, 3 assistant professors, 8 research assistants and 3 PhD students supported by YÖK.

Our department, which has a bird's eye view of Sapanca lake and is located in the middle of a wonderful nature beauty, has independent class study offices, project support office, department library, a decent resting place and foyer area beside modern classrooms.

The Labour Economics Student Research Society (ÇEKAT) organizes important organizations each year and contributes to the socialization of students and the development of communication and organizational skills.
